FBI Shoots Man After Threat Against Biden

Shortly before US President Biden’s visit to the state of Utah, a supporter of former President Trump announced his intention to take up arms. The man was shot dead during a raid.

FBI agents in Utah shot and killed an armed man who reportedly threatened to attack the President of the United States, Joe Biden, just before his visit to the state. Special agents attempted to serve the man, located in Provo just south of Salt Lake City, with an arrest warrant on Wednesday morning when the shooting occurred, according to the federal police.

The suspect had posted online on Monday, stating that he had heard about Biden’s visit to Utah and that he was now going to “dust off” his M24 sniper rifle. According to court documents, this wasn’t his first threat against Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other government officials. “The time is ripe for one or two assassinations”

In a Facebook post in September 2022, he wrote, “The time is ripe for one or two assassinations of the President. First Joe, then Kamala!!!” Attorney General Merrick Garland and two New York prosecutors were also allegedly threatened. The man referred to himself as a “MAGA Trumper,” referencing former President Donald Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again.”

He also posted threats against high-ranking law enforcement officials overseeing cases against Trump. Neighbors described the man to the AP news agency as a frail elderly man who used a walking stick. Although he regularly carried weapons, he was not perceived as a threat. According to his online profile, he was 74 years old. Biden to Speak on Veterans

Biden flew to Utah on Wednesday evening and plans to visit a veterans affairs hospital in Salt Lake City on Thursday. There, he will speak about the PACT Act, which expands benefits for veterans. He also plans to hold a fundraiser for his 2024 reelection campaign.
