In massive air raids targeting multiple regions of Ukraine, nearly 40 people were injured and one killed, including children. Rockets launched at Kyiv were intercepted.
Russia has once again fired rockets at several cities in Ukraine overnight. According to authorities, at least 34 people were injured in the Ukrainian city of Pavlohrad. Among the injured were five children, said the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak. Two women are still in intensive care.
According to Lysak, some of the seven Russian rockets were intercepted, while others landed in an industrial plant and started a fire. Dozens of buildings in a residential area were damaged. Rockets, according to Lysak, also hit three other areas of the region, damaging residential buildings and a school.
Rockets were also fired at the capital, Kyiv, where the first air raid sirens went off at around 3:45 AM. According to the head of the city administration, Serhiy Popko, all rockets and some drones were intercepted.
In the Cherson region, one person was killed and three others were injured, including a child. The Russian forces “carried out 39 attacks during the previous day,” noted Oleksandr Prokudin, of the Cherson Military Administration, stating that the southern city of Cherson was hit eight times.
Strategic bombers from the Murmansk region and the Caspian Sea fired a total of 18 cruise missiles from long range, according to Valeriy Saluschnyj, commander of the Ukrainian military. 15 were intercepted.
On Friday, the Russian military attacked Ukraine with more than 20 cruise missiles and two drones. It was the first attack on Kyiv in nearly two months. The rockets landed, among other places, in a residential building in Uman, a city more than 200 kilometers south of Kyiv, killing 21 people.
