Casualties Reported in Spanish Nightclub Fire
At least 13 people have died and four others have been injured in a fire that broke out in a nightclub in Murcia, southern Spain. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The fire started in the early morning at the “Teatre” nightclub and quickly spread to other nearby clubs in the commercial and leisure district of “Las Atalayas,” according to the newspaper “El PaÃs.”
At least 13 people have been confirmed dead, and at least four others have suffered from smoke inhalation. Rescue services have not ruled out the possibility of finding more victims.
The mayor of the city, José Ballesta, stated that there are still numerous individuals missing. Firefighters are currently searching the nightclubs for any additional victims.
The initial images from the scene showed dozens of young people on the streets near the nightclubs, with a massive black column of smoke rising from the buildings. Twelve fire trucks and 40 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire, as reported by “El PaÃs.” The cause of the fire is still unknown.
